Was excellent. Cornbread was moist. Catfish was delicious and no funky flavor. The collared greens were very tasty. Mac n cheese was the best I have had ever out eating. I’ll be back when in town. Thanks again for the hospitality and delicious food.
It was my first time, but definitely not my last time. It's hard to find soul food and Louisiana style restaurants in Washington state but I'm glad to have learned about the existence of "Nana's Southern Kitchen". The food was a amazing! Thank you ALL at Nana's Southern Kitchen!! 🤎
I've been in the area for a week for work and this is the best food I've eaten since I've been here. I placed a pickup order well after dinner and when I got it everything was still fresh and warm and the person who helped me was so friendly. I'm from an area where we eat a lot of catfish and not many restaurants here on the west coast nail it like they did. The sides and deserts were also on point and the cabbage was just like how my family does it. It's the kind of food you wish you could eat every day.
Stopped by here for takeout got the catfish with 3 sides (greens, mac n cheese, yams). First I have to say I couldn’t finish all of the food in one go and I’m a big guy. For one person maybe 1 main and 2 sides is better. Catfish: The catfish was the star of the show and the best I had in WA thus far. I enjoyed this dish more than Fat’s and Catfish Corner. It reminded me the most of Louisiana cooking. Definitely getting this again. Also, make sure you try their house sauce. Cornbread: This was a little too light for me. Wish it was richer but it was free so can’t complain. Greens: Fresh and delicious. My second favorite dish from here. Definitely getting this again. Mac n cheese and yams: These were decent. Hospitality: Nothing short of superb.
Holy moly! Is that good good that is insanely tasty flavor bombs! I got the fride catfish with cornbread, The fish is tender and juicy with a nice flavor crust, paird with their homemade tarta rscause is delicious. sides: candied yams, and holy crap are they tase like it sounds xD deliciously sweet and melted in my mouth. Mac'n'cheese, is not your standard i gor a tast of biscuits and gravy vibe in the cheese way. Green beans, even these are loaded with flavor and has a plesint bite before it belts away with a salty tasly after tast. :D
This place is so amazing! Best fish and pork chops ever! Mouth watering mac and cheese! Greens were seasoned to perfection. Huge portions. We were invited by Ms Jackie and it did not disappoint. We live in Dallas, Texas but looking forward to visiting again. We loved our visit!
I’ve never had southern food before, this is now gonna be my spot when I want southern food. Got the fried shrimp, potato salad and baked Mac. The flavors were 100/10. When mixed together 1000/10! The granddaughter working was so sweet and welcoming this being my first time she let me have a free sample of the yams and they were so delicious especially on the cornbread!
Very nice Southern restaurant where both the food and the atmosphere felt like I was eating dinner at my grandma's place in Memphis, TN. I ate here around noon on a Wednesday, and the place was fairly empty. The walls are filled with photos of Nana and the family throughout. The staff was not only nice, but made an effort to make you feel welcomed into their family-owned restaurant. I ordered the 1 main and 3 side combo and a sweet tea for about $30. I got the catfish as the main with sides of collard greens (not pictured), mac and cheese, and candied yams. The catfish batter had a nice kick that tasted a little cajun-y, but the actual catfish was soooo juicy. All the sides were good, but the greens were the best, in my opinion. I learned afterwards that they also had kool-aid, a classic. Overall, a great taste of the South in Kent, WA. Will definitely be coming back again to try more southern staples.
Customer service and friendliness is superb!! Their Mac and cheese is the best in any restaurant by far. Best catfish and greens. Sweet potato pie is also good though I would like it a little less sweet. We can’t wait to go back because we live far away.
We had a great experience at Nana’s Southern Kitchen. The fried chicken was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection, and the collard greens, candied yams, and mac and cheese were all delicious. The pork chop could have been a little more tender, and the cornbread could’ve been a bit more moist, but both were still good. Portions were very generous, making the higher prices worth it. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing the history of the restaurant and the family behind it. We’ll definitely be back!
